RATIONALE

It has been a yearly tradition for Pan de Manila to commission local Filipino artists to create original paintings/artworks which will be promoted and featured in their Christmas packaging, gift packs and store decor. This year, more than ever, Pan de Manila recognizes the importance and effectiveness of harnessing the arts and culture during these uncertain times to promote hope and new beginnings.
Thus, Pan de Manila, is running Pan de Manila Art Contest 2021, with the theme, ANG PAROL: SINAG NG BAGONG PAG-ASA, to encourage more participation.

DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTEST

As part of its commitment to supporting Filipino creativity, PDM has partnered with Philippine Guild of Watercolorists, Inc. (PGW), Philippine Pastel Association (PPA) and Let’s Paint (LPG). PDM calls to its members of these organizations to express their emotions, feelings, ideas, and innovative thoughts through Traditional Art that reflect how they see the Filipinos celebrating Christmas reflecting joy and hope.
The theme of the contest, Ang Parol: Sagisag ng Bagong Pag-Asa, is considered highly relevant as we wish to inspire people in overcoming all the challenges of the past year. This project offers an alternative venue for artists to express their creativity.
