Our model for this afternoon is one of the jurors and guest of honors in our Hues of Hope Exhibit, Mr. Ferdinand Isleta. he is an NCCA Haligi ng Dangal Awardee and is one of the prime movers of the culture and the arts of the country. He is currently the OIC Chief of the Policy Plan Formulation and Programming Division and Head of the Arts Section of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA)
Jurors:
Mr. Grandier Gil Bella earned his degree in Fine Arts, Painting at the University of the Philippines in 1993. Graduating cum laude, he focused his efforts in studying the classical painting techniques espoused by Rembrandt, Caravaggio and Da Vinci. He is a recipient of several awards in both local and international art competitions and is affiliated with Philippine Pastel Artists, Artalyer Workshop and Studio, Filipino Portrait Artists Guild, and a faculty lecturer at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts.
Mr. Romy Carlos graduated from the UP College of Fine Arts with a major in Advertising. He started as an art teacher at De La Salle University and became a full-time painter 30 years ago. Portraiture has always been a passion for him and is one of the most sought after portrait artist for commission. He is one of the founders and now president of the Filipino Portrait Artist Guild.
Ms. Kyle Legaspi is our very own VP for Finance. She is a dedicated portrait watercolorist and one of the top 3 winners in the Kwento at Kulay exhibit last January and 2nd prize winner in our ongoing Hues of Hope exhibit. Both of her entries are portaits of her nieces which often serve as her muse.
The session was hosted by Ms. Sarah Liuson Ongsun with a special appearance from our guest Mr. Ferdinand Isleta.

VIRTUAL PORTRAIT ON THE SPOT PAINTING CONTEST
Saturday, September 18, 2021, 1-5PM
MECHANICS:
-The contest is exclusively open to the 4th PGW National Watercolor Convention Registrants only.
-Everyone joining the contest must turn on their cameras and show themselves painting all through the time allocated. Please be ready with your camera set-up prior to the commencement.
-Photos of the subject will be posted at the Convention Page and shown in the zoom room only as we start.
• The final presented artwork must be the portrait given for the session displaying the subject matter’s face with obvious facial structure, similarities throughout the form
• The portrait does not have to be hyperrealism, but the given face must be recognizable with adequate shadow to show its’ 3d form.
• No cartoon, line art or abstract work; that renders the portrait unrecognizable
-All painting outputs must be posted on the PGW FB PAGE (not the convention page) with the hashtag #OTSPportrait within 30 minutes after we end the on the spot session.
–Deadline for submission of paintings: September 18, 2021 at 5:30PM or 30minutes after we end the zoom meeting, or whichever is earlier. na
-Size: minimum 9in x 12in, maximum of 10in x 15in
